Commit c0412fe enables several nifty optional features of the daemon, by
adding a number of missing configure checks (ahem...).
Notably, it allows it to “canonicalize” ownership of symlinks (as
discussed in the other thread), that is, to change the owner of symlinks
in the store to ‘root’ as is done for regular files and directories.
