Dear Emilien and Luis,
we're glad you showed interest in the API: we consider important to inform the GNU Health team about the work we carried on with HL7 v2, which is ready and available opensource and can be useful for other developers.
We will consider the opportunity of collaborating in the integration of an HL7 module in GNU Health in the future, even if we'll not be able to do it as soon as we would like because of the present workload of any member of the group. Anyway we'll keep following GNU Health with lot of interest, hoping to join soon.

Thank you and best regards,
Vittorio

Thank you ! You are very welcome to the group and count on us for
joining forces.

We are working on the HL7 FHIR reference library [1], that can be used
within GNU Health and other systems.

I just released the development version 0.0.3 with the rest of the
interactions (a big thank you to Chris Zimmerman !), and updated sample
code . Check the README file sample use with JSON and XML formats for
interactions on the Patient resource.

I have also used our demo patient "Ana Betz" with the demographics, so
we can match with our GNU Healh demo environment.

Although I will be working on the FHIR implementation, you are most
welcome to create a module that integrates your library for HL7 v2.x in
GNU HEalth. There are many places that make use of that version, so
it's quite important to have it also. Emilien Klien will be
happy about integrating other HL7 versions.

Let us know your thoughts .

A presto !
