[Help-bash] bi-directional socket client / server example code?

Hi,

is it possible to do with bi-directional socket client / server
communication with bash? Is there some example code?

I mean, that the client can contact the server, the server answers
something, the client reads the message, reacts accordingly, the server
reacts accordingly as well and so forth.
