Andreas (Kusalananda) Kähäri:
"You simply can't say that "$11" is an error without knowing what the rest
of the code is supposed to do."
On the spectrum of possible audiences, from where words for many listeners
might demand some exacting measures for the sake of communicating an idea
consistently, all the way to where words for one listener can allow for
some more imaginative uses of language within highly localized contexts, my
intention was to aim more towards theblatter of these two. ;-)
Mr. Matzura did say, [some shell syntax] "has always been a problem for me
because there doesn't seem to be a single hard-and-fast rule."
When someone asks, how can I cross this stream without getting wet, and,
are any of these stepping stones in the water not wobbly, if someone else
says, that one there won't wobble, assuming it's a statement for one or
very few listeners, I think that's probably okay.
You are quite correct, however, Andreas, about the proper definition of
"error."

ps. Using more braces will make the rains come, and a plentiful harvest.
