It worked. I used Db 4.0 and i was able to compile and make install. Thanks for 
the information. Now..onto the next step!!

Sorry, I'm stepping in half way through this, but, DB 4.1 is
possibly not entriely compatible with 4.0; try 4.0 or check the
chaneglogs for 4.1 to see what has changed between 4.0 and 4.1,
