I'd be surprised if it doesn't. Any well written UNIX application that
makes use of the well known abstract C library functions for querying
system data bases (e.g. gethostbyname or getpwuid) instead of
contacting the data sources directly should work regardless of the
directory service you're using. You should be fine as long as your
LDAP server/client combo supports all NIS maps that you need to use.
(I know some LDAP server/client combinations didn't support certain
more exoteric NIS map types in the past)
