Folks
I have been trying to use cfengine 2.0.6 to edit the Solaris /etc/shadow file
for root password
I have the following in my cfagent.conf
editfiles:
solaris::
{ /etc/shadow.mg
ReplaceAll "^root:.*" With "root:NEWROOTSHADOW:6445:::::"
}
This is the error message that I am getting from cfrun
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
cfengine:HOSTNAME: WARNING: Non-convergent edit operation ReplaceAll
[root:NEWROOTSHADOW:6445:::::] With [^root:.*]
cfengine:HOSTNAME: Line begins [root:OLDROOTSHADOW:6445::::::]
cfengine:HOSTNAME: Replacement matches search string and will thus replace
every time - edit was not done
cfengine:HOSTNAME: Error editing file /etc/shadow.mg
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong.
Thanks
Matt
