A simple workaround is to make an additional link to your libdb:
cd /usr/local/lib
ln -s libdb41.so libdb.so
and configure like this:
env CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/include/db41" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib" ./configure
