But I do want it 99% of the time. Here is a more complete picture of
my setup: I run cfexecd as a daemon with the default schedule (hourly)
on ~100 machines. The common case is cfagent being run from a daemon
cfexecd; I definitely want a splaytime here. I also use cfexecd -F & in
/etc/init.d/cfengine to start cfengine going upon boot. Here it would be
nice if it did not splay. I think it would be optimal for the machine
to begin to configure itself immediately upon boot.
When I push out a new config to a few machines, I either test by kicking
them with a cfrun remotely, or ssh in and run a cfagent -q. This is
generally good enough, but it's not really what will happen when I make
the change available to all my machines.
It would also be a nice bit of consistency between the options for the
different programs.
