Yeah, don't do that.
[eric@flutter /etc/cron.d]$ more cfengine
25 * * * * root /usr/sbin/cfexecd -F
Individual files, so no convergence problems, and you specify the user
to run as the second argument. This is a feature of vixie-cron so you
should be able to use it pretty widely (Solaris supplied cron is due
for replacement anyway :-) )
