solaris $(class) considered harmful

At risk of angering the multitudes and breaking compatability, would it be possible to change the $(class) variable on Solaris Sparc machines to something more descriptive? Currently it evaluates to "solaris", which creates the awful situation of "solaris" being defined on Sparcs but not on Intels. It is very counterintuitive to a reader (especially one not familiar with the quirks of cfengine) to realize that

solaris::
   stuff
solarisx86::
   otherstuff

is an either/or situation, not a superset/subset.
