Small variable buffer?

I'm putting the results of a find into a variable and I'm starting to
see this error:
cfengine:: Buffer exceeded 1024 bytes in exec /usr/bin/find /home/logs
-maxdepth 1 -name '*_log' -and -type f -and -printf '?f:'
Is their any way to increase this limit? This seems like kind of a low
default in this day and age.
