Wouldn't that be handled by the cf file that you run on the system? 
Cfengine can be told "if this file looks like this, then do that" or "if 
the file doesn't look like this, then do something else".

That's kind of the point of classes to begin with...

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding your question.
