OK, I appreciate the advice. This won't be the first I have ripped  
stuff out and started over ;-)

That was fairly easy, or so it seemed.

This was working but now isn't. I was also able to "editfiles" on a  
remote host before, but for some reason copying files or fixing  
permissions never worked.

So I'll bear down on getting that to work locally before I complicate  
my life.
