#23896 -- ls incorrectly shows quotes when listing file names with spaces

If possible, I'd like to vote for this bug. It wasn't clear from https://debbugs.gnu.org/ that this sort of thing was possible.

I don't just want to "me too" message the bug, though (that seems annoying).

Is there someone keeping track of whether this abomination should be revoked based on us, the users, out here?
