0.1.8 is quite an old version. Before putting any work in this, could you try 
to do

locate libMRML
locate libGIFT

or otherwhise (if you don't have a working locate)

find . -name "libMRML*"

gift-add-collection.pl --help 

should give you an idea. Don't hesitate to ask again.
