GLPK 3.0.6 -- Release Information
*********************************

Release date: Mar 28, 2002

GLPK (GNU Linear Programming Kit) is intended for solving large-scale
linear programming (LP), mixed integer linear programming (MIP), and
other related problems. It is a set of routines written in ANSI C and
organized in the form of a callable library.

New version of LU-factorization and basis maintenance routines (based
on Forrest-Tomlin updating technique) has been implemented. Since these
new routines functionally supersede some routines, which implement other
forms of the basis matrix, the latters were removed from the package
(however they still can be found in the subdirectory 'oldsrc').

The new routines are planned to be a base for a new, more efficient and
more flexible implementation of the simplex method, which will appear in
the next versions of glpk.

All the changes are transparent on API level.

Please note that the current version of GLPK is *tentative*.

See the official GNU web page about GLPK at
<http://www.gnu.org/software/glpk/glpk.html>.

GLPK distribution can be ftp'ed from <ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glpk/> or
from some mirror ftp sites; see <http://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html>.

GLPK is also available as Debian GNU/Linux package. See the web page at
<http://packages.debian.org/testing/math/glpk.html>.
