VM new lines

Hello,

I am using VM. Sometimes I received mails (in some cases forwarded
mails) - and VM does not start a new line within the text.

For instance the text I would like to read is:

> abcdefg
> abcdefg

--

---------
signature
---------

But I have to read

> abcdefg> abcdefg

-- ---------signature---------

or something like this. Why?

Help is very appreciated.
