Emacs in a remote mutt session impossible?

Thanks for the reply.  Suppose I am
on the road and want to log into home
machine to run mutt remotely and do email.

Suppose I want to use Emacs in this remote
mutt session.  How would I do that?

Your idea works great if you have emacs
installed on local machine but would
it or something else solve the above scenario
problem?
