Currently edited function

        Hello, 

When, in c-mode or any other programming mode, 
I edit a file with several functions in it, 
I'd like to know which is the name of the currently edited function, 
i.e. the function where the point is located.  
Eventually I'd like to make that name appear in the mode line or in the
window title line. 
How could I do that ?
