I assume you mean C-w or M-w to cut or copy, unless you have remapped
the default key locations.  If you didn't mean C-w or M-w then try
that, otherwise you could always copy it using the mouse buffer.
Highlight the section you want to copy and then use the middle mouse
button to paste it.
