buffer menu categorisation

buffer menu categorisation |

I'm using emacs-21.2.1.
At one time, when I hit C-mouse-1, I got a menu of
buffers categorised by type (eg C, SQL, shell, ...).
It no longer does that. How can I get that behaviour
back?
