eshell & cdpath support?

I have recently started using eshell with emacs version 
21.2.2 and it appears that it does not support cdpath
(or maybe I am doing something incorretly?).

I read in the newgroup archives of some discussion about
adding cdpath support, but wasn't clear whether/where
I could get support in eshell.

Any help would be appreciated.
