Emacs commands via webserver

I am implementing version control systems.
Via CGI, I like to give the user to choose version of the system user
want to see.
I maintain the different version via snapshots.

Now is it possible to run the command 'retrive snapshot', and update
the web content based on user choice?

This is only for testing purpose for single user.
