Learning Emacs and learning C++ are pretty much independent.  At
least unless you use GCC and glibc, in which case it is worth noting
that Emacs' built-in info reader is one of the handiest tools for
accessing info pages (use C-h S with the cursor on a symbol to find
its info page).  It is also worth noting that the gdb command in
Emacs is quite handy for source code debugging.

Gone?  Hardly.  It's still quite the killer.
