I've looked at the clearcase.el code. There are several
`start-process' calls, which run commands on the local host. This
would be needed to be replaced, likely with an asynchronous
`shell-command´.
There are also synchronous `call-process´ calls, which could be
replaced by `process-file´ in Emacs 22.
Not a trivial task, at all.
