[emacs: Cannot connect to X server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:0.0] when other X app

I have a problem that when I am using VPN and ssh to access my AIXmachine I can not startemacs. It gives the error in the subject line and exits. Other Xprograms run fine, aixterm,xclock, sylpheed, etc. so I know my display and X forwarding options arecorrect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
