change keybinding Meta-Shift

Hello,

currently Alt-Shift is bound to the function <language-change> with the 
effect of changing most keybindings on my keyboard (e.g. z <-> y)
I've tried to change the keybindings in different ways to switch off 
this shortcut, however without success, e.g.

(global-set-key [<Meta-Shift>] 'ignore)
(global-set-key [<Shift-Meta>] 'ignore)

What do I do wrong? Any help is welcome.
