This is a riddler. I made this in emacs:
\\\\\\
     '\'\'\'\'\'
The backslash character is in the ascii range so you must have something running that is using this as a dead key. Are you saying (also) that you couldn't produce your above quoted text in Emacs? Of course \ is the escape character in many contexts but that seems to be another issue. What piece of hardware is your keyboard?
