Have a look at the customize group for appt. I think you can do this,
but you may need to provide the function that creates the frame. There
are two variables which can be used to specify the functions used to
open and close a window to display the diary. It would probably be
possible to use functions that display the window in its own frame and
then close the window and delete the frame.
