I am connecting to a solaris machine running SunOS 5.8 using an ssh
client. When I run emacs I can start editing a file without any
apparent problems. However, if I go to the command line by typing Ctrl-
Z and then return to emacs I can no longer edit. If I type I any
control sequences (e.g., Ctrl-L) I get a literal ^L instead of a
screen refresh.
The terminal emulation is set to vt100 and the TERM environment
variable is set to vt100. I tried two different ssh clients with the
same results.
