cvs merging problem with emacs

when using ediff-revision or vc-next-action
on "need merge" status I I dont have success with checkout the last
revision (the last user that made the checking) , the revision that is
checked out is few version backwards ( i dont know why it happens).
Is possible to checkout the last version in the repository with ediff
or vc-next-action ?
