Do you really need to do it this way? You can run it quite simply
within the eshell prompt inside emacs.
M-x eshell
eshell$ echo "foo" >> #<buffer *scratch*>
eshell$ myprog >> #<buffer *scratch*>
echell$ echo "bar" >> #<buffer *scratch*>
