The one I already have is

(defconst py-version "5.1.0"

yet yours is

(defconst py-version "5.0.0+"

so it's still a tad confusing as to which to use.

Can you comment on the versioning here please?

I got mine from:

where the latest update was from january.

Python has a lot of competing SW it seems! It can get quite confusing.
