newsticker won't start

I am running emacs from cvs. At the beginning newsticker did start
flawlessly but since some time newsticker-start (emacs started with
`emacs -Q') only produces this error message:
error in process filter: mapc: Wrong type argument: listp, \.\.\.
error in process filter: Wrong type argument: listp, \.\.\.
Now this happens with every new build.
