grep-command under emacs 23.2.1

hi there,

anyone knows how I can customize grep-command so that when I run grep(f3),
it does this:

Run grep (like this): grep -i -n  <cursor here> *.cpp

(basically i want the cursor to stop in the middle of the prompt). 

I used to be able to do it with customizing grep-command but i cannot figure
out how to do it with emacs 23.2.1
