ESS Emacs 24.1 and Screen Sharing

Hello,

I'm on a Mac OS 10.7.4 and ever since I upgraded ESS Emacs to 24.1.1, I cannot use any of the shortcut keys through Screen Sharing.  For example, the usual C-x C-s sequence for saving or C-s for searching or Fn-arrow keys for page up or down don't work.  Everything works fine locally, just not when I remotely log in through Screen Sharing.   ESS Emacs 23.3.1 works fine through Screen Sharing.  Any ideas on how to fix the problem on 24.1.1?
