That I understand.  But this is no just “Lisp”, its “Emacs Lisp”, and
more precisely, it’s a language used to (among others) writing config
files.

BTW, extensive use of global (and buffer-local) variables also is not in
“Lisp nature”, right? ;-)

That was precisely what I didn’t want to do.
