I also thought so yesterday, but trying it again today delivers again the
same error:

​I remember that a year ago (or so) I've tried using `mu4e' with
'offlineimap​' + Gmail and it also worked fine.  That's why I'm confused
why it does not work now with Emacs built-ins.
