smie regression?

smie wants:

        ionice -c3 \
               nice \

but i want what sh-indent-line does:

        ionice -c3 \
            nice \

i tried smie-config-guess, but it failed to guess.

has the behavior changed?  there does not appear to be
anything in news about it.
