Not that this is tricky also because there are "holes" there,
e.g. "mathematical lowercase italic" has no letter "h".

I'd also recommend against this idea.  I'd use e.g. Markdown (possibly
with font-lock) for that.

A quick test shows that this won't work in the current state of affairs.
