I’m under the impression that it takes more than «some» developer to develop 
such 
complex and crucial software…

Also it usually base on deep neural networks hence requiring very massive 
training 
input, which to be collected actually requires action from even more many 
people, so 
it’s even easier to stop if there is appropriate collective actions (but that 
requires stop 
sharing faces in public (which is less convenient) and centralized services 
(which is 
nowadays made difficult))
