I've only seen one use case for inserting the initial value
and it's the completion one, I don't like that to begin with
and with this use case I like it even less since basically the
computer then tells the user "Okay, this is as far as I can
take you, now you start complete your way thru the rest of the
jungle without me".

Make that an option if so the users can put to t if they want
it rather than have the programer give the default value twice
to the same function.
