Dear Sir,
We are doing a project titled "Integrating Mobile IP for
Authentication, Authorization and Accounting over RADIUS". We
are using the software "Dynamics - Mobile IP" developed at
Helsinki University of Technology
(http://dynamics.sourceforge.net). Since we have hardware
limitations, we are implementing Mobile IP in a wired
environment.
We have 4 computers running Red Hat Linux 7.3, connected
through a 2 hubs
Home agent HA -> 172.168.242.1 (eth0) & 172.168.240.5 (eth1)
Foreign Agent FA -> 172.168.240.1
Mobile Node MN -> 172.168.242.2 (initial setup ) -> 172.168.240.2
(final point of attachment)
RADIUS -> 172.168.242.5
Our initial setup is
HA (172.168.242.1 eth0) --hub1-- MN (172.168.242.2)
|
RADIUS
Final setup is
RADIUS--hub1--HA(172.168.240.5
eth1)--hub2--FA(172.168.240.1)-- MN (172.168.242.2)
|
|
HA (172.168.242.1 eth0)
We are simulating the movement of mobile node from one
network to another in a wired environment by changing the
IP address of MN manually (without DHCP). Since we are new
to the world of radius, we are facing difficulties in
configuring radius to suit our environment.
We have the following problems:
We need radius to AAA the mobile node.
1. We do not have a NAS. How do we make radius to work without a NAS?
2. How do we change configuration in radius to accept the mobile node and
validate it?
3. Do we need to install the radius program in the mobile node also in
order to run programs like radtest?
Thanks in advance.
