ld undefined versioned symbol name

I recently downgraded from gcc 3.0 back to 2.95.3.  Now some things wont 
build.  
I get this error:

/usr/bin/ld: .libs/libkillustratorpart.so: undefined versioned symbol name 
__register_frame_info@@GLIBC_2.0
/usr/bin/ld: failed to set dynamic section sizes: Bad value

(this was an attempt to build koffice, but I get the same type of  error 
other places.  I'd blame kde but I tired rebuilding somthing that worked 
before I upgraded to gcc 3.0 and it produced the same error.)  

On perhaps the same note my linker may be a bit confussed. .  This only part 
of the command the that makes the error.

It is trying very hard to link libm libc libgcc_s.  Any ideas before I do 
anything crazy like rebuild glibc.
