Well, since the question has been asked, I too feel that there is too
much spam going thru fencepost.gnu.org. Something should be done. I
would propose:
- make the newsgroup gateways one way, mail-list -> newsgroup.
- make the lists closed.
- use some software on fencepost.gnu.org to detect and reject SPAM.
- have some volunter to moderate the lists.
Unfortunately, I can't volunteer myself (I'm not reliable enough), but
the first two items could be implemented quite easily and should prove
effective enough.
