Hello,
Hi Dom,
I am having a problem building gnustep-gui (both versions 0.9.0 and 0.9.1) on Redhat 7.3. The build hangs I'm working from the SRPMS found on ftp.gnustep.org, and have successfully (apparently) compiled and installed gnustep-make and gnustep-base. gcc is the dubious "2.96" from Redhat, so I guess this is a possible area of concern.
FWIW (not much, I guess) I've never managed to build GNUstep completely using a 2.9x compiler, on Linux or on Solaris. However, I've never managed to *not* build GNUstep with a 3.y compiler so could you put a newer compiler in, say, /opt/gcc3 and try building from that? Oh, and on compilers, did you install the gnustep-objc? You need to go into the makefile for gnustep-objc and set the appropriate threading model but I can't remember what this should be under Linux :-).
