I guess you want to build a command-line tool using the base library ...
for that your makefile needs to use TOOL_NAME rather than
OBJC_PROGRAM_NAME, and include tool.make rather than objc.make

That worked out just fine. Thanks for the help. My definition of
"standalone" was that it was independent of the AppKit, rather then the
whole of Foundation and AppKit. Doing what you suggested, has worked,
although now I get a "does not respond to `release'" warning at
compile time and runtime as well.
