Now that 2.02 has been released, would it be possible to take a second look at John Lane's patches and try to get them merged? I'm one of those users that has been waiting for this to happen for quite some time.
I've seen there were some further discussions with Mat628 but it seems like John Lane's patchset is tested at least to some extent so it seems natural to apply it first and then incrementally add other stuff instead of trying to get it all in at once.
