Hei hei
In my world CC typically is a variable used in a makefile,
which can be gcc or g++ depending on the makefile.
C++ file are typically named with the extensions ".cpp" or ".C"
However, using just CC on the command line (either aliased or a linked to a C++
compiler)
is something I've never encountered before... but It's quite possible (even
likely)
that my personal experiences do not cover the entire world ;)
